1976 Louisville Slugger H & B K55 Uncracked Bicentennial Bat

This is for an original Hillerich and Bradsby Louisville Slugger K55 model baseball bat which was made for pitcher Tom Bradley. The bat only has the last name of Bradley on it, but if you go through the baseball almanac, the only person the bat could have been made for was pitcher Tom Bradley. Bradley would begin his career with the California Angels in 1969, and would then spend 1971 and 1972 with the White Sox. The San Francisco Giants thought enough of Bradley to give up Ken Henderson and future Cy Young winner Steve Stone for the pitcher and he would spend 1973 and 1974 on the teams roster while splitting time with the Giants and their AAA Phoenix affiliate in 1975. Bradley would be picked up off of waivers by the Oakland A’s in April of 1976 and spend the entire year on their minor league PCL AAA Tucson team before leaving baseball at the end of the year. The bat was probably ordered for Bradley during the spring of 1976 for use with the Giants but his move to the AL with its designated hitter would lead to the complete lack of use on the bat. There could be a light blue rack mark here and there but for all intents and purposes the bat has no use since an AL pitcher would have no reason to use a bat. This is a perfect example of what a 1976 Bicentennial should look like. Gorgeous and ready for a new home.
