Description
Jim "Catfish" Hunter was a World Series star in the 1970s for the A's and Yankees, leading his way to the Hall of Fame. He signed this Billy Hunter model bat that dates from 1970-72. Billy Hunter played 6 years in the majors before going on to coach for many more years. His hot start during the 1953 season led to an All-Star team, but a lot of his success came as a coach. During his 13+ years as a third-base coach, the Orioles won 2 World Series titles, 5 AL East titles and 4 AL Pennants. Hunter then became the skipper for the Rangers, where he managed 2 seasons. This H&B K100 fungo bat dates from 1970-72, and is PSA authenticated. The bat measures 36 in. and 29.6 oz. and shows outstanding use with a fixed handle crack, ball marks, and cleat marks. The signature is toward the middle of the barrel. For those new to the hobby, PSA is an industry-leading bat authentication service. Your bat's serial number can be searched in the PSA online database and your PSA Letter of Authenticity provides further valuable information on the bat. Having the bat authenticated and/or graded increases its value and makes it much easier to sell the bat in the future.
