Description
Cabochon Description: COLOR; Variated lighter & darker purple tints & hues through out the stone. This is NOT a piece of Chalcedony, dyed jaspers, or acrylic plastic seen in todays markets AS Sugilite. FRACTURES: There is one thin healed fracture along one side. (See picture 9) AND there is a very thin surface fracture on the bottom of the stone, BUT I don't think it goes in very deep. POLISH; Mirror finish on the top & 50,000 diamond smoothing on the back with a 360 degree bezel along the back edge to prevent chipping. CUT; Free form oval, with a low dome. Pictures; Taken outdoors in smoky sunlight, the stone seems to have a reddish tint to it. Under a high intensity lamp (last picture) the color of the stone appears more of a blue/purple. OR is my camera is making the stone appear more blue? Don't know?
